3 red-necked stint (winter plumage) 6 wrybill 10 banded dotterel

Embankment Road

66 pied stilt 3 wrybill 10 banded dotterel

Arctics’ still at L Ellesmere Reported by Stephen Wratten

Colin Hill and I went to Embankment and Yarr’s and found….. not much-then hit gold at Greenpark Huts

Totals for all areas combined:

pied stilt 246 mute swan 8 banded dotterel 75 (one ad.) wrybill 17 spoonbill 26

At Greenpark:

sharp-tailed sandpiper 1 (summer plumage)

red-necked stint 19 (some in summer plumage)

Colin Hill and I went from Embankment Road to Clark’s Road and then to Greenpark Flats Some nice pools at Embankment but water level too high at Yarr’s for a visit

Many, many ha of dry lake bed at Greenpark

Greenpark:

3 bar-tailed godwit 2 royal spoonbill 1 hybrid stilt (white face and vent) 1 variable oystercatcher (black)

Embankment Road:

5 mute swans 1hybrid stilt (white face, vent and lower belly)

Banded dotterel total (both sites): c. 25 (all adults) Pied stilt total c. 200

No wrybill or stints, despite careful checking

Lake Ellesmere Reported by Stephen Wratten

Colin Hill and I found these in a tight bunch (some showing a bit of territorial behaviour-extended neck posture)) west of Embankment road and east of Yarr’s reserve

Other birds seen from Yarr’s to Clark’s Road were:

Yarr’s 88 stilts 10 banded dots

Embankment

365 stilits 135 banded dots 9 pecs (yellowish legs seen)
